DOCUMENT ASSEMBLY NO-GELMINI _ OUR FUTURE MAY NOT 'BE DELEGATE!
Since September, the Assembly no-Gelmini gives voice to students and students of Turin who want to react to threats against the University Italian public in Articles 16 and 66 (paragraph 7:13)
Budget Law (Law 133/2008) approved in the Senate August 6, 2008.
During this month of mobilization, the Assembly no-Gelmini brought together students and students from all faculties of the University of Turin. Assembly box, ideas and tools for coordination of mobilization, participation of the individual students, collectives, associations and lists of representation that have been established, independent of their peculiarities, in the assembly itself.
Le differenze appaiono subito evidenti: negli anni '60 quegli studenti e quelle studentesse si rivoltarono against the generation of their fathers. We, today, we are paradoxically to envy our parents and their certainties. Sixty-eight of the boys to imagine a better future, to fight for it was an obligation imposed on their time, we have been generically defined as "no future, no future. Today, being male and female students and strive to imagine another future is in itself an act of courage. He would like to be denied the very possibility of imagining the alternative. Our mobilization wants to recover this possibility and it is acting in a different way of practicing the policy and give meaning to it.
The real news in all the analysts, the media should speak lies in the autonomy that this movement is cutting out compared to everything that has gone before: our generation is perhaps the first who has shaken off the legacy of paternalism toward del'68 made successive generations.
From these findings, we reiterate the absolute independence of the Assembly no-Gelmini any formal, party or trade union that is. We find precisely this autonomy is our strength and drive proactive.
The Assembly claims but at the same time its strong political nature in opposing the inclusion of existing measures and their action in a process of change. Political nature that leads us to consider as a starting point for any discussion of anti purposeful adherence to the principles, and of anti dell'antisessismo. Such a clear and definitive position of the Assembly wants to be a way to make it quite clear that the extreme right that those students these days are trying to ride the instrumental movement are definitely not representative of our common sense. Our content may not be different from that of those who, inside or outside of Parliament, have made themselves champions of special classes for immigrant children in primary schools or who always claim to privilege for a few and nostalgically hark back to the Fascist period. With all these the Assembly is not in any way be confused, despite the adversity they have on occasion expressed against the legislation referred to above.
awareness of our political action, on the other hand, there is also link this struggle to a broader scheme that makes us think about the crisis of the global economic system and on who will pay the consequences. Public education should not pay for sins of others. The economic crisis is proof of the failure of a model that has as its first interpreters who now only offer new cuts.
We are aware that the measures contained in Law 133/2008 are only the latest step in a specific pattern that has already seen its beginning with the 90 (Law Ruberti, 1990). The objective is the gradual dismantling of the public sector, of which education is certainly one of the strategic sectors. Privatize it, and subsequently entered in a free market, it means looking at training as any other commodity, thus debasing the character of the common good. Education is one of the most important ways in which individuals become aware of their social status and develops the critical skills necessary to prevent la riduzione del suo status di cittadino a quello di suddito.
The University we want is really public space, where every form of criticism is permitted and there is no mechanism of social exclusion: the entire population present in Italy, of all walks of life, income, linguistic affiliation and geographic origin should be entitled to a free access to higher education.
Secondly, we want the University is based on a comparison and critical discussion, not lecture on this to the arc of our academies. The seminar should become the pivot of the university's intellectual life, which should finally truly differentiate themselves from high school, as already happens in many other countries in the world. Female students and students no longer have to be users, but those capable of self-empowerment in the studio and produce real progress in every critical area of \u200b\u200bscience.
Third, we are fighting for the Italian university should promote free research and critical immune to special interests, lobbyists and private, and be a place of socialization of knowledge that transcends the boundaries between academia and society, between universities and metropolis, to be a common social wealth. Access to the research shall be free of any nepotism and patronage and will enhance the commitment, creativity and critical skills rather than obedience dogmas in every discipline, where they exist, and intellectual conformism.
The tidal wave of faculty employed Turin promotes and supports the development of student collectives and assemblies in each university, faculty and degree course in order to multiply the dissent, extending the critical, and the University of the future are here a thousand of his laboratory experimentation.
